It's Monday.

And here goes. Okay. I like to run. I am about to "be" 50 so I am not very good at it. I enjoy it. I feel good after I do it. I am proud of myself for doing it. So. I enter a 5k every now and then. They are fun. It's fun to see if I can beat my own personal time. I did Steps for Starla a few Saturdays ago. Starla lives in Bay Minette and she has leukemia. AJ McCarron who was the quarterback for Alabama in the National Championchip game wore a rubber bracelet for her in that game and he has been to several fund raisers for her family since. It was so organized and fun. So. I know I "can" go the distance, but I would like to go that distance a little faster. Just because- gosh darn- there is a 5k here in Mayberry where everyone will know how bad you are and judge you for each and every step. I been reading up on going faster and I need to break out of my two very fast- under 26 minutes- two miles per day. I need to do four or five every other day to make speed. Today will be one of those days. I will just run at my pace and hopefully the speed will follow for that 5k on April 28th. However, walking a little bit of that 5k will not make me a loser.

Right?

Running on Emty, Jackson Browne  (you know you love this one)

In sixty-five I was seventeen and running up one-on-one
I don't know where I'm running now, I'm just running on
Running on-running on empty
Running on-running blind
Running on-running into the sun
But I'm running behind
